With over two decades of international experience in higher education, entrepreneurship, and strategic advisory, Dr. Mohamed Bamatraf is a visionary leader at the intersection of academic innovation and global collaboration. Now serving as the Executive Director of Murdoch University Dubai, in addition to his role as Director of Strategic Partnerships – Middle East, Mohamed leads the university’s strategic growth across the region through government relations, corporate engagement, and cross-border academic initiatives.

His influence spans continents—from delivering keynotes at global platforms such as the BRICS Forum in China, to designing executive education programs that have generated millions in revenue. Mohamed’s career includes leadership roles in Canada, Malaysia, and the UAE, with prior positions at GEDU Global Education and advisory contributions to institutions like Hong Kong University and the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council.

An entrepreneur at heart, Mohamed founded ArabiCollege, the first live online Arabic language school of its kind, which later merged with a major education group. His work has been featured on Al Arabiya TV, Emirates TV, and Sharjah TV, and in major regional publications such as Al Khaleej and Al Bayan.

He holds a Ph.D. in Digital Entrepreneurship and an MBA in E-Business & Finance from the University of New Brunswick, Canada, where he also earned his BBA in International Business.

Dr. Mohamed Bamatraf currently serves as the Executive Director of Murdoch University Dubai and Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). As the university’s most senior representative in Dubai, he leads academic teams, oversees daily operations, and manages strategic relationships with key regulatory bodies such as KHDA, CAA, and MOHESR.

In parallel, he drives Murdoch’s strategic initiatives across the MENA region, working closely with university teams in Perth, Singapore, and Malaysia to expand global education, student recruitment, and executive learning programs.
